More Randomness For Your Already Exciting Day

Hayden likes to sing. This we know. She has taken a liking to Carrie Underwood, which I love but unfortunately don't have a good enough video of that yet. So for now, you are stuck with another Disney theme. I might start charging for her performances....that's how I'll make our millions $$$...

Also, we had a photo shoot today. Of me. hooray. Hayden actually took the camera and told me where she wanted me to stand or sit or whatever. "sit on the couch" "do boing"(meaning jump up and down) "sit with Ella" Those were some of her demands, and I went with it. After every picture she says "ohhhhhh". I wish I had prepared myself a little better. It was all so spontaneous, but oh so fun!
The last picture is of us reading. She wanted to take a picture of me reading her princess book, but got distracted and wanted to read with me instead. So that's where the last picture comes in.

Good times :)

This May Surprise You

Contrary to popular belief, one of my favorite times during the day is when Hayden wakes up from a 2 hour nap. Her little munchkin voice saying "hi mommy" and her holding her little ladybug is pretty. dang. cute. Her little giggle makes me smile, too. I already forgot how mad I was at her this morning for making me leave my kickboxing class early due to my impatience and her desire to cry and whine. All water under the bridge. How can I stay mad at this?:

Exactly.

"Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout My Best Friend!"

I really can't get enough of these two and they have become the best of buds lately. They do most things together, like brush their teeth:

And take naps:

and just hang out:

Hayden has also done some really funny things lately. I was cooking dinner and she really wanted to read with me. Since I said I couldn't because I was cooking, she figured she'd make herself nice and comfy in the middle of the kitchen and read herself. That way I could be with her. It was a nice thought.

I just thought this was funny. I got her out of the bath and asked her to go get a diaper. When she hadn't come back for a while I figured I'd check up on her and I found her in front of the TV. Like a little kid. Still in her towel. Awesome.

I love my little family.

I just thought I'd throw this in for all the sunset lovers out there. This is one of the killer sunsets we've been having here. So pretty!

Inspiration....Maybe a Bit Cheesy For Some of You, But That's Okay. :)

This is the reason I love the show So You Think You Can Dance. I love when a piece of work can say so much without really "saying" anything at all.
This particular routine was dedicated to the choreographer's mother, who at the time is going through some personal circumstances and illness.

These two nailed it on the head. She portrays the mother, and he portrays her son.

This show has won several emmy's for it's choreography. It's beautiful and genius and I love it.

These 3 Words

One of the greatest moments in my life is hearing my little girl say "I love you" on her own, followed by a hug, when I probably need to hear it the most.

Thanks, Hayden. You're the best!

A Weekend with the McCains

I am proud to say that we had MOST of Carl's family here for the week (we missed you Laurel!) and I think it turned out really well! We are so grateful and blessed to be able to house so many people at one time. I just hope everyone was comfortable and enjoyed it as much as we did!

Since it was the 4th of July weekend, we had to start out with a bang. And by bang, I mean BBQ.
Lots of family and friends made it fun. Thanks Mom and Dad McCain for the grub...Delish!

After the BBQ we got ready for the STADIUM OF FIRE! Yes, we did witness a beautiful sunset, a ton of patriotism(where I always lose my composure...I pretty much bawl like a baby), the amazingness that is Carrie Underwood, and of course the firework show. It was so fun!
Happy Birthday, America!

On Sunday we did our own fireworks. The sparklers were a hit and Carl and his two brothers plus Justin, our nephew, had fun lighting off the rest and putting on a show. Good times. Hayden did great with the big fireworks at the stadium but for some reason the ones at home freaked her out. Except for the sparklers. She loved the sparklers.
I love my land, America!

On Monday we decided to head up to Sundance Ski Resort and ride the ski lift to the top for a little hike. We didn't walk the whole hike but still had a great view of the waterfalls.

I failed at getting pictures of us at the pool on Tuesday, but it was great and the kids loved it. We had another BBQ that night up the canyon at one of our favorite spots. Hayden really liked cooking her own hotdogs and enjoyed getting as dirty as she could. Awesome.

She also got her first shiner this week! It was a pretty good one. I guess that what happens when you run into a lamp post :/

We had so much fun with everyone here and can't wait until we can do it again :) To Aaron, Candace, Justin, Brittany, Alex, Amanda, Darren, Heather, Brandon, Brooks, Ade, Dave, Kym, and Gma and Gpa McCain, we love you and thank you for coming and spending some time with us.

What Do Us Moms Do When the Kids Aren't Around? Watch Vampires and Werewolves Fight Each Other and Make Out, That's What!

Meet Robyn:

Her and I spend a lot of time together during the day.
We also have the same love for this:

Which is why we left the kids with her husband and took off to go see it together.
There may or may not have been some drooling involved.
And we may or may not have giggled like little school girls in some parts.
AWESOME.

Thanks for the good time, Rob!

*A big thanks to Jethro for watching my girl for me. It was nice for us moms to get out together sin children. :)
